Garlic Lemon Chicken Recipe!

Hey Guys!

I'm back with another delicious and unbelievable easy recipe! When you're in college, you don't really get time to make yourself good food everyday. Meals are restricted to packed snacks and fast food. Now I'm not complaining about it, but you soon start missing proper cooked meals. So when the weekend arrived, I jumped at a chance to cook myself some food and here's what I made!

  • 2 pieces of chicken fillets
  • 1 garlic bulb
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 stalks of dill
  • a pinch of salt
  • oil

To begin, peel and chop up the garlic cloves into tiny diced pieces. Chop up the dill as well.

After washing the chicken, lay it in a deep plate. Put the chopped garlic and dill on it and squeeze the lemon on top. Sprinkle some salt. Rub the toppings on the chicken properly to marinate. Now cover the plate with cling wrap and keep it in the fridge for about an hour.

Once the chicken has been sitting in the fridge for an hour, take it out and leave it for a while to get to room temperature.

Por some oil in a frying pan. Chop up about 4-5 more garlic cloves and put it in the oil. Once the garlic becomes slightly brown, put in the two pieces of chicken along with all the marinations.

Let the chicken sit on the pan for 5 minutes on each side. If it feels uncooked, allow it to stay until it is cooked.

Once it is cooked, put it on a plate. For the topping, put some dill on the chicken. You can squeeze some more lemon juice over it or sprinkle it with some salt!

October Favourites!

Hey Guys!

I haven't done a favourites post since June so I thought it's about time I did one. Since it's been ages since the last favourites, a lot of these products etc have been a favourite for a while now, but specifically in October. Let's dive in!

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream

I bought this product when I first reached Turkey and have been using it every single day since. It is such a lifesaver. I only use a small amount and it blends perfectly on my face. I bought the one for oily skin and I must say, it really helps to mattify my skin to a great extend. The only complaint I have with this is that it's a bit light for my skin tone. And since Maybelline doesn't do many shades, the closest to my shade was the one in Light. But aside from that, this product has been great for me this month.

MAC's Cosmo in Amplified

I mentioned this lipstick in my haul post, and I said how this deserves a post all on it's own. And I stand by what I said. This product has also been a huge lifesaver for me. I've had some trouble with my lips; they've been chapped and discoloured a lot these past few months. Since it gave me such a complex I refused to leave my room without any lipstick on and Cosmo has been perfect for that. It's a quiet creamy formula and stays on the lips for a long time. It's the perfect shade of pinkish nude for my skin tone and is my go to everyday lipstick.

Maybelline Volume Express Mascara

Ever since the mascara I mentioned in the last favourites, the Giordani Gold Lash Fascination, I believed it impossible to find a mascara to be as good enough. But I have found a close second. This mascara is very dark and is perfect for the days when I don't want to apply any eyeliner. It doesn't budge so it's also perfect for the under eye lashes. This has been my everyday mascara for this month.

Benefit's Hoola Bronzer

This is a very new addition to my make up collection, but it's already jumped it's way to the favourites. I've seen beauty gurus rave on about this product for ages so when I popped into Sephora one day, I knew I had to have this product. My search for the perfectly subtle and matte bronzer is over. It's great for contouring or even warming up your face! What's more, I love the little brush that comes with it! I normally never use the brushes that come along with the products but the Benefit's brush works really well with the product for contouring. I love it!

Beauty Blender

I finally bought a beauty blender from a make up drug store. I was nervous about this because I've never blended using sponges before and I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it properly. I'll admit, it took some time to grow on me, but once it did, it instantly became a favourite! It's shape helps it to get to the difficult places like under the eyes, around the nose etc. and it blends the base flawlessly. I use it to blend my BB cream, and sometimes after applying bronzer, I go over the edges with the blender to make it look much more natural.

Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba Oil Lip Balm

When I mentioned the trouble with my chapped lips to a friend, she quickly grabbed for her bag and got this out for me. She got it in a flight and had already used it up quiet a bit, but she insisted on me using it. And I understand why. It's such a creamy lip balm, it really makes the lips soft. It stays on for a long time, unless I rub it off or eat or something. And I've noticed a difference in my lips ever since I started using this product. I definitely need to look for more of these!

Flormar Hand Cream in Pomegranate

I'll be honest, I bought this solely because of it's smell. It smells so heavenly and well- like pomegranates, that I couldn't contain myself. But aside from the smell, it's a great cream. The only thing that stops me from keeping it with me all day long is the size. Since it's a bit bigger, this tube sits at my bedside table and I like to think of it as a sort of luxury item as I always use it when I'm relaxing.

Flormar's Matte Nail Enamel in Black

When I saw this product, I knew I had to buy it. I had been seeing matte nail colours all over Tumblr and Pinterest for ages and always wanted one! Every since I picked up this one it's the only shade I've had on my nails. It's so good that I ended up buying them for three more of my friends!

Tangle Teezer

When I visited Sephora, I picked up a Tangle Teezer as well, and I definitely do not regret it! It's perfect! It's compact and has a cover, so it's perfect to pop into my bag everyday! And ever since I've been using it I've had much less hairfall, so this is definitely a favourite! Unfortunately, I spoiled mine just before I started writing this post- I was blow drying my hair while brushing it at the same time, and I held the brush too close to the dryer, which caused the teeth to melt. So I would wan you against doing that!

Allow me to have my white-girl moment as I talk about my love for Starbucks. Now that I have Starbucks close to literally every place I stay at, I've been visiting it very often. And since it's October, they whipped out the Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Trust me, I used to laugh at this drink because of how clichéd it is, but ever since I had one, I've fallen in love! And I love pairing it with a brownie!

This month I have two favourite apps, and Trafi is the first one. My roomate told me about it when I first moved to Istanbul, and bless her because it's been the most helpful thing ever! It's like Google Maps, but just better. It gives me directions for places, but also tells me how to get there. For example, it will tell me how to take a bus, metro, ferry etc to my destination. It tells me how much it will cost me, when the next transport leaves etc. So this is the best app for travelling in a foreign country- specially if nobody speaks the same language as you!

WhatsApp Web

I cannot believe that I didn't know this existed! This is my saviour! Now I don't have to struggle with jumping from phone to laptop every two seconds- I have it all in one place! I have nothing to say except everybody should use this!

That brings us to an end of my favourites in October! Hope you enjoyed!

New Playlist!

Hey Guys!

I'm back with an updated playlist. Once again, it's a very diverse playlist and doesn't have a specific genre. But these are the songs I've been listening to the most lately, and I hope you enjoy them too!

All the songs have their links, so you should check them out! Enjoy the music!

                      Hey Guys!

Today I walked around the Besiktas area in Istanbul and got a few pictures. Stay tuned for more!!

Huge Haul!

Hey Guys!

Lately I've been pretty broke. And I blame it on the shopping!

Ever since I moved, I've been "forced" to buy a lot of new things and one thing lead to another and here we are with a post about my shopping haul. I will try to categorize these things as best as I can, starting from clothes, to beauty to home ware and miscellaneous.

I picked up this sweater from Mango at a ridiculous price. So insane that I still cannot believe that I got such a good deal. It keeps me warm and I've been wearing this a lot lately.

(pardon the wrinkles)

This sweater is from LC Waikiki and it the nicest shade of mustard ever. This zip is running down the back of the sweater and the front is just a simple plain kind.

I picked up this beautiful kaftan/poncho from H&M because it was love at first sight. It has lovely patterns stitched on it which give it a great texture and has fringes hanging at the bottom. The only downside to it is the short sleeves. I didn't let it bother me when I bought it but now it's challenging to wear it in this cold. But I can always save it for next year!

This leather jacket from Koton is a largely iconic piece in my wardrobe at the moment. I needed it to save me from the rain at a concert, so I bought one with a detachable hood. It fits me perfectly and keeps me so warm. All while making me look the coolest I can. I love, love, love this piece.

I bought this hoodie from LC Waikiki. It's very soft, very comfortable. Perfect to throw over a casual shirt for days when I don't want to put in much effort.

These boots are lifesavers. They're absolutely warm and comfortable. And the best part is that they save me from the rain! And they're not very high maintenance either, so I adore them!

Pardon me but I was too lazy to flip this picture around. These shoes are from LC Waikiki again and I wear them almost everyday.

I bought this really cool beanie from Colin's. I didn't need a beanie. But this one just had to come with me.

Moving on to beauty, I've been collecting a lot of new items lately.

These two lipsticks are my first MAC lipsticks and if we're being completely honest, they deserve a post all for themselves. They're very similar shades. They're a kind of pinkish nude, so that makes it perfect for an everyday use. They're Mehr and Cosmo; Mehr being a matte and Cosmo an Amplified.

This is Maybelline's Volume Mascara. It has saved me from looking like a dead mess everyday. I'm very thankful for this product.

This is Maybelline's Dream Pure BB Cream for the Oily Skin and I have been dying to use this product! I saw it in a YouTube vlog and have been searching for it like crazy, and I finally found it. It's a very wearable product for an everyday use and I'm really liking it. But I do have to powder over it sometimes to keep the oil in check.

I finally jumped on the bandwagon and got myself a Burt's Bee's lip balm. I wasn't too sure about it but I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Safe to say I wasn't disappointed. It has a very minty feel on the lips but also leaves it very moisturised. I've been having some serious problems with my lips and the skin around it lately, and this product is definitely a saver!

Now how can it be a haul without some hand creams? I bought the Tarocco Orange eucalyptus & sage hand cream from Crabtree & Evelyn and it smells so fruity and citrous! The other one is from Flormar in the Pomegranate scent. It's very sweet and fruity. I really like both of them.

I got these three nail polishes. The brown and dusty pink ones are from Defacto and I really like their colours. The other one is a matte black from Flormar. I've been painting my nails very often now and I really like these shades.

Moving on to home ware, I have a fair few bits to show.

This really cute pastel pink bowl and matching plate. I picked them up from a supermarket because of how cute they are!

This plain white plate with really pretty designs on the edges.

This knife (once again I apologise for it being upside down) has the vigo sign on it! So obviously I HAD to buy it!

And here we have two mugs because obviously one isn't enough.

Now I also bought a few random other things.

I bought this simple gold necklace from Mango and I've been wearing it everyday since! It's really minimalist and classy and I love it!

I bought this book at the airport while I was flying. I won't give away any spoilers, but it is set in Germany at Hitler's times. The story revolves around this girl who is blind and this boy who is very smart. I haven't finished it yet, but I definitely recommend it!

Again, we have an upside down picture that I am too lazy to fix. But here are a few notebooks and stationary pieces I bought to help me get through the classes.

How cute is this "The Fault in Our Stars" coaster? My brother bought it for me from this cafe which has the theme of several fandoms. Another place on my list of places to visit!

What's a haul without candles? I bought this at a bookstore. It's a Lemon scented candle but when you burn it, it gives off a very spicy lemon scent. It's nice but sometimes it overwhelms me and I cannot stand it as much.

And now lastly, but most definitely not the least, is this bag from H&M. I was on a hunt for a nice big bag in which I could carry my books etc. I found it so cheap it was definitely under priced for how great this bag is! It's my new everyday bag!
